I finally decided after pondering and hashing over ideas to make a decision for my long wall dilemma.
I went with these 4 botanical prints that I purchased at HomeGoods for $29.00 a piece. I thought that was a really good price compared to the ones I love at a local furniture store, they look very similar and sell for $199.00 each.
I wanted this room to seem more formal so I went for the uniform botanicals and frames instead of the picture collage style that has a bit more casual feel with personal meaning. I have to admit it is sort of of a challenge for me to go formal; so this room is as formal as it gets for now:)… I love the little bird pillow from Pottery Barn….it reminds me of when I was 20 years old and worked for a small company in Florida where we hand painted birds, sea shells, and all kinds of coastal inspiration on fabric. The fabric was sewn into pillow covers and sold to small speciality shops and and a few dept stores like Jacobson’s. I haven’t painted in a few years since I developed an issue with my hands…I’m sort of tempted to give it a try…hmmm Isn’t it interesting how things cycle in and out of style, like birds, owls, botanicals….I remember birds and owls being everywhere when I was younger and my aunt reminded me of the large botanicals my grandma had similar to the ones we own. Wow, I’m old !!!I guess I’m considered vintage :)….ha ha maybe a wise old owl PS whats the news on Peacocks??? Are they the next it bird???
Here are a few extra shots from different angles. The room still isn’t finished but I wanted to show the progress! This is huge for me since I spend a lot of time procrastinating especially when it comes to walls. My indecisiveness led me to start another blog called all about walls. Check it out here if you want to take a peek. I’m just loading in wall inspiration ideas. www.allaboutwalls.wordpress.com I have a ton more to add!!!
My cousin added the white half walls and columns about a year after we moved in, along with the new crown and baseboards…again need to find before shot… He’s crazy fast, he brought his truck and tools up from Georgia and did all the trim and columns inside and out in 4 days. He does carpentry work here in the US so he can head to foreign lands and do missionary work. Thank you Brad!
